seaside lounge
This lounge was designed around the breathtaking views over the trees across and over the Waitemata Harbour.
The key design element here was the floor to ceilng glass with Corban’s custom designed slim window joinery to make you feel like you are truly floating on top of the beautiful native bush below. When it came to the interior design of this lounge, we had always imagined it would be for ‘sophisticated lounging’ (meaning it wasn’t designed for the kids to hangout in).
As always, we create ourselves a brief per room, and inspiration/moodboards to build the room around.
The must haves
A fire place
A Samsung Frame TV so it could look like Artwork on the wall
A very comfortable sofa setting for Winter lounging
Linen sheers, so that it would soften the look while still allowing partial sunlight to drench the room
As always, texture comes to play to create a sense of warmth. I chose a sheer linen curtain fabric ‘James Dunlop Laconia Air, colour Linen’, and Prestige CMT made our curtains.
